Fell Brewery has announced its acquisition of Pelican Bar in Manchester, marking a strategic move to bolster its presence in the city and elevate its brand visibility. Speaking to the drinks business, Fell Brewery’s managing director, Michael Dixey, emphasized the significance of this expansion into Manchester’s vibrant bar scene.
“The acquisition of Pelican Bar allows Fell Brewery to extend our footprint in Manchester,” stated Michael Dixey. “Bars are integral to our business strategy, and we are enthusiastic about integrating Pelican into our operations.”
Initially, Fell Brewery plans to maintain Pelican Bar under its current name and brand, with future plans for a redesign that will incorporate Fell’s distinctive branding and ambiance. The acquisition includes assuming the brand, employees, and lease of the site, solidifying Fell Brewery’s commitment to the venue.
Dixey elaborated on the acquisition, expressing excitement about welcoming Pelican Bar into the Fell Brewery family. “Our aim is to build upon Pelican’s existing charm and reputation while infusing it with the quality, atmosphere, and community spirit that define Fell venues,” he remarked.
In the coming months, visitors to Pelican Bar can expect an expanded selection of Fell craft beers, complemented by a curated menu featuring guest beers, natural wines, spirits, soft drinks, and snacks.
Reflecting on Fell Brewery’s ethos, Dixey highlighted their commitment to innovation while honoring northern brewing traditions. “We strive to create memorable experiences for beer enthusiasts across northern England,” he affirmed.
Currently, Fell Brewery operates successful establishments in Kendal, Penrith, Chorlton, and Cartmel’s Royal Oak pub.
