White Peak Distillery, Derbyshire’s pioneering craft distillery established by Max and Claire Vaughan in 2016, unveils its latest innovation: Wire Works Bourbon Barrel whisky. This new release marks a significant milestone for the distillery, known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
While the whisky carries no age statement, it is meticulously crafted using some of the oldest casks housed in White Peak’s warehouses. Wire Works Bourbon Barrel represents the distillery’s first expression fully matured in ex-Bourbon barrels, offering a lightly peated profile that sets it apart.
Bottled at a robust 53.5% ABV, Wire Works Bourbon Barrel joins Wire Works Caduro as a cornerstone of White Peak’s core product lineup. Max Vaughan, co-founder of White Peak Distillery, shared his excitement about the release, emphasizing its role in showcasing the distillery’s unique house style and Derbyshire heritage.
“Bourbon Barrel is a signature whisky for us, embodying our distinct flavor elements cultivated through our local ingredients and meticulous production processes,” Vaughan stated. “The exclusive use of ex-Bourbon barrels accentuates our true house character, reflecting over six years of dedication to craft distilling.”
Available for £65 (US$82) from the distillery and select UK trade partners, Wire Works Bourbon Barrel invites whisky enthusiasts to experience the culmination of White Peak’s journey and savour the essence of Derbyshire in every sip.
