Belgian brewery Duvel Moortgat is set to launch its non-alcoholic offering, Chouffe Alcohol Free, in Asda supermarkets starting next week. The 0.4% ABV beer, an innovation from the esteemed Achouffe Brewery in the Belgian Ardennes, is poised to grace the shelves alongside its well-regarded flagship counterpart, La Chouffe.
Chouffe Alcohol Free, brewed with meticulous care, boasts distinct hints of spices and fruity nuances that are quintessentially characteristic of the Chouffe portfolio. Notably, the brewing process diverges from convention, as Chouffe Alcohol Free is crafted using a unique strain of yeast that refrains from converting sugars into alcohol during fermentation.
In light of evolving consumer preferences, Duvel Moortgat’s UK head of sales, Laurens Nies, acknowledged a noteworthy surge in the demand for non-alcoholic beers. Nies underscored the trend of heightened health consciousness among consumers, leading to a reduction in alcohol consumption. Citing the discernible shift among millennials to consume less alcohol than previous generations did at the same age, Nies highlighted the continuing moderation of alcohol intake.
Emphasizing inclusivity and catering to diverse lifestyles, Nies stated, “We firmly believe that the exceptional flavor of Chouffe should be accessible to everyone, regardless of circumstance or setting. This ethos propelled the creation of Chouffe 0.4%, ensuring that the remarkable Chouffe experience can be relished by all.”
With the imminent debut of Chouffe Alcohol Free at Asda, Duvel Moortgat positions itself to tap into a burgeoning market of health-conscious and mindful consumers seeking a refined non-alcoholic alternative.
