Depot Brewery has officially opened its doors in Artarmon, Sydney’s northern suburbs, bringing a new destination for craft beer lovers and food enthusiasts alike. In addition to its beer offerings, Depot Brewery features a bistro-style menu curated by Chef Will Baldwin. With over 15 years of experience in renowned venues across Sydney and London—including the award-winning Bopp & Tone—Baldwin’s culinary creations promise to elevate the venue’s dining experience.

Depot Brewery is also introducing a range of wines and cocktails to complement its beer selection. These include drinks made with house-distilled gin and vodka, offering visitors a varied beverage menu to enjoy while watching live sporting events on large-screen TVs or relaxing with family in the venue’s designated playground.

The brewery is located next door to its sister venue, Buckle Cafe & Distillery, which provides a more traditional café experience. While Buckle is known for its expansive food and drink menu designed to cater to patrons from day to night, Depot Brewery embraces a more casual, pub-style atmosphere.

Campbell Starrett, Depot’s Bar Manager, explained, “When conceptualizing Buckle and Depot, we wanted two venues that offered distinct yet complementary experiences. Buckle channels classic Aussie café culture, while Depot leans into Aussie pub culture. The space is designed with a mix of bar and dining tables, so whether you’re grabbing a quick drink with friends or settling in for a long catch-up, we’ve got you covered.”

The brewery’s tap menu, crafted by award-winning brewers Ady Fitter and Ian Roxburgh, will feature a variety of beers, including the mid-strength “Ultra Crisp” Lager, the tropical “Pacific Pale” Ale, and a strong yet balanced IPA. In total, there are 12 taps, with nine beers rotating regularly.

The venue’s name, “Depot Brewery,” pays homage to the heritage local council depot located next door to the building. Designed by Cradle Design, the brewery combines industrial elements like exposed brick and open rafters with a modern, luxurious bar setup, reflecting both the history and the vibrant new life of the space.

Depot Brewery is located at 1 Frederick St, Artarmon, and will be open from 12pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday, 12pm to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and 12pm to 9pm on Sundays. The kitchen will operate daily from 12pm to 8:30pm.
