Greek wine production is characterized by the involvement of numerous family enterprises, which have made significant contributions to wine tourism and local economies. Presently, Greece boasts approximately 1,400 wineries cultivating a total of 60,000 hectares (equivalent to 600,000 stremmas) of vineyards. The focus of these wineries is on producing quality wines rather than pursuing intensive cultivation methods, as highlighted by Yiannis Voyatzis.
