HARRISBURG, Pa. (WHTM) — SpringGate Winery has officially transitioned to new ownership and will now be known as Royal Winery, marking a new chapter for the well-known local vineyard.
The new owners announced the rebranding on the winery’s official Facebook page earlier today, stating that despite the change in ownership, the winery will remain a family-operated business. “While the Vineyard will now be under new ownership, we want to emphasize that it will remain a family-run business,” the statement read. “Our focus is on supporting and bettering the community, which is why we are committed to maintaining the charm and traditions of SpringGate.”
This announcement follows the sale of SpringGate’s 60-acre property at 5790 Devonshire Road, which occurred just months earlier. The sale came after SpringGate closed its Mechanicsburg location in July following a bankruptcy filing in May, signaling a shift in the company’s direction. During this period, the winery revealed plans to sell its Dauphin County location.
The new owners expressed enthusiasm about the future, promising to honor the heritage of SpringGate while enhancing the vibrancy of the surrounding community. “We are looking forward to creating a space that honors the traditions of the Vineyard, but also helps the surrounding community seem more vibrant,” they shared. “We are truly excited for the journey ahead and look forward to meeting some wonderful new faces!”
Local residents and visitors can expect further updates as this new phase for the winery unfolds.
