Albert Heijn Recalls Uiltje Apfelstrudel Doppelbock Beer Due to Undeclared Oat Allergen

Albert Heijn, in partnership with the Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC), has issued a recall for Uiltje Apfelstrudel Doppelbock beer after discovering that the allergen ‘oat’ was not listed on the product label. The omission could pose a serious health risk to consumers with an oat allergy.

The recall applies to 33-centilitre glass bottles with specific best-before dates: 21-11-2025, 01-11-2025, 26-10-2025, 12-10-2025, 06-10-2025, 29-09-2025, 27-09-2025, 12-09-2025, 16-10-2026, 02-10-2026, and 01-10-2026. The product was available for sale until 3 January 2025.

Albert Heijn is urging customers with an oat allergy to avoid consuming the beer and return it to any of their stores for a full refund. The supermarket chain emphasizes its commitment to customer safety and regrets any inconvenience caused by the labeling error.
