Eastlake Craft Brewery, a beloved fixture in Minneapolis for nearly nine years, has sadly announced its impending closure, with its final day of operation set for September 23.
In a heartfelt message shared on Facebook, the brewery cited its inability to recover from the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and the civil unrest that followed the tragic murder of George Floyd. The brewery lamented that it can no longer afford the rent, making the difficult decision to cease operations.
“We love this neighborhood – it’s our namesake,” the brewery expressed on social media. “We love all of the vendors at the market that make this shared space so vibrant. Thank you to everyone that has ever stopped in to try us out. To our regulars, that make up the atmosphere as much as we do. To all of the staff, past and present, that have made Eastlake everything that it is. Thank you, and much love to all of you.”
Eastlake Craft Brewery’s closure marks the end of a nearly decade-long journey, leaving a void in the local community and among its dedicated patrons
