Organizers of the Knutsford Beer Festival have announced that, despite their best efforts, they have been unable to secure a venue for the event’s anticipated April 2025 dates. This marks the first time since its inception that the popular festival, which has raised over £60,000 for local charities, will not be held in its traditional springtime slot.
The festival, known for showcasing a variety of beers, ciders, gin, wine, and fizz, has grown significantly in recent years. Last year’s three-day celebration, marking the event’s 10th anniversary, was a record-breaking success. It featured 48 types of beer and cider, with over £13,000 raised for local charities, including Stable Minds, a mental health organization, and the Hope Centre foodbank.
In an Instagram statement, festival organizers expressed regret over the cancellation, citing ongoing challenges in securing a venue. “Despite considerable effort, we have struggled to secure a venue for April 2025, which is our usual and preferred time to hold the festival,” the statement read. The organizers emphasized that past venues, including the Old Town Hall (now Lost and Found), Egerton Youth Club, The Courthouse, and most recently, Egerton Place (formerly Marshalls House), had been invaluable, often available at little or no cost. However, they noted that finding a space large enough to accommodate the festival’s growing crowds has become increasingly difficult, particularly amid current uncertainty for venue owners.
Looking to the future, the organizers remain hopeful for a revival of the festival at a later date. “We are working on other options, including alternative venues or potential partnerships for a different type of event,” the statement continued. They appealed to the public for suggestions and urged anyone with knowledge of available venues to get in touch.
“While we continue to explore possibilities, we hope to hold some form of event later this year, and we appreciate the continued support from the community,” a spokesperson added.
The team behind the Knutsford Beer Festival remains optimistic that the 2026 event will return in full force, with better opportunities for securing a suitable venue.
