In a late-night order issued on Monday, the Telangana government has approved a 15% hike in the price of beer, effective from Tuesday, February 11, 2025.
The directive, signed by S.A.M. Rizvi, Principal Secretary (Revenue), authorizes the Managing Director of the Telangana Beverages Corporation Limited (TSSBC) to implement the changes as recommended by the Price Fixation Committee.
The committee, led by retired Justice Jaiswal, had proposed the price increase as part of its recommendations for revising the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) of beer. Consequently, the MRP on beer will be raised by 15% across the state, impacting consumers starting this week.
