Australia’s Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), the parent company of the prestigious Penfolds brand, is expanding its relationship with China’s wine sector, aiming for long-term growth and collaboration.
Headquartered in Melbourne, TWE is one of the world’s largest wine producers. According to Tom King, Managing Director of Penfolds, the company is committed to the continued success of both the Australian and Chinese wine industries. King emphasized the importance of fostering mutual learning and facilitating knowledge exchange between the two nations’ wine industries.
In an interview with The Drinks Business, a leading global trade publication, King highlighted the historical significance of TWE’s ties with China, noting that the relationship dates back to 1893 when the first bottle of Penfolds was exported from South Australia to Shanghai.
