The session, titled “Want to Make Great Wine? Plant a Forest”, will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025, and is expected to be a highlight of the renowned international wine fair.
Legeron will be joined by esteemed winemakers Hoss Hauksson and Arianna Occhipinti for an engaging discussion about how biodiversity and low-intervention techniques in the cellar enhance wine quality. According to Legeron, modern viticulture practices risk creating “monocultural deserts,” which can harm not only the environment but also the quality of the wines produced. The masterclass will propose an alternative approach that emphasizes fostering healthy soils and vibrant ecosystems to improve vine resilience and produce superior wines.
The session will include tastings of several organic and biodynamic natural wines, showcasing diverse regions and styles. Featured wines will include a wild vermouth from Switzerland, a Frappato from Sicily, and a 100-year-old ungrafted Albariño from Galicia, Spain.
