Actor Adrian Grösser Shares His Passion for Wine, Rituals, and Unique Experiences

by Kaia

Actor Adrian Grösser opened up about the challenges and unique experiences that come with his busy schedule in the entertainment industry, as well as his deep appreciation for wine. Despite the whirlwind of performing and filming, Grösser emphasized how theater in particular tends to dominate an actor’s mind, even during off-hours.

“When you’re doing theater, it’s a mental turmoil,” Grösser said. “You wake up with the show already in your head, and that continues until the next performance. Filming is also intense, leaving little time for relaxation.” However, Grösser mentioned how he finds solace in small rituals, such as enjoying a glass of wine after a performance, or on his day off, typically Monday.

In the dressing room, Grösser keeps a bottle of Ballantine’s whiskey, which he holds onto due to a superstition. “I always have a bottle of Ballantine’s because I was given one after the successful opening of a show. Since then, it’s become a lucky charm,” he explained. While not a frequent whisky drinker, he enjoys having the bottle to share with his fellow actors as a symbol of celebration and closure after a show.

Grösser also shared a memorable experience during his travels, where he participated in the harvest at Jean León’s vineyards. There, he tasted what he considers the best wine he’s ever had, a special 1980s vintage. Despite not being a wine expert, the experience left a lasting impression on him. “When you taste something with such history, it adds a sensory and intellectual pleasure,” he noted, recognizing the connection between wine, culture, and storytelling.

Grösser’s fondness for rosé wine also stood out, as he described a strong appreciation for the color and taste. “I love the color of rosé; it catches my attention. It’s a wine that feels fresher and fuller-bodied than white wine,” he explained, revealing his preference for it over other varieties. Though his mother is the one who typically chooses wines for family gatherings, Grösser noted that his wine preferences lean toward rosé due to its refreshing qualities.

When it comes to the choice between a glass of wine or a beer, Grösser shared that the atmosphere often depends on the company. “I have relationships where we meet over wine, and others where we meet over beer,” he said. Despite his personal preference for beer, the choice of beverage is more about the connection and environment rather than the drink itself.

For Grösser, these small moments of connection, whether over wine, whiskey, or beer, represent the celebrations and rituals that bring balance to his hectic life as an actor.
