PETALUMA, CA — Wine Country Fine Furniture has relocated to a new address at 311 North McDowell Boulevard, taking over a long-vacant building that once housed a Bank of the West branch. The new location, which had sat empty for 12 years, offers a distinctive setting that owner Jack Rasmussen says evokes a sense of “Mayberry times.”
Previously operating out of a former motorcycle dealership, Rasmussen welcomed the opportunity to move into the former bank, which offers not only a nostalgic atmosphere but also more affordable rent. The transition has also helped the business expand its reach to customers on the east side of Petaluma.
Though the new location is smaller, the team has embraced the challenge with creative interior adaptations. Furniture is now artfully displayed inside the bank’s original vault, while fabrics, wood stains, and lighting options are showcased behind the teller counter.
The quirky charm of the space has inspired a new marketing tagline: “High quality furniture where you choose … and you can bank on that!”
Wine Country Fine Furniture is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The store is located next to Batteries and Bulbs and Simmer Restaurant.
