Beer & Brewer is excited to announce the return of the 2025 Beer & Brewer Awards, set to take place on Tuesday, October 21, at Mountain Culture Brewery’s new Redfern venue in Sydney. In collaboration with Sydney Beer Week, the awards will once again celebrate the country’s finest in the brewing industry with a live event that promises to shine a spotlight on the exceptional people, venues, and producers who make Australia’s beer scene thrive.
The awards, which gained widespread acclaim following their inaugural live ceremony last year, continue their mission to recognize excellence across the entire beer industry, particularly in a year that has presented its fair share of challenges.

The Beer & Brewer Awards recognize a broad range of categories, from Best Beer Venue and Best Beer Launch to Rising Star and Lifetime Achievement. Last year’s standout winners included Bitter Phew, named Beer Venue of the Year, and Nick Calder-Scholes from One Drop Brewing, who took home Brewer of the Year honors.
Jackson emphasized the importance of celebrating innovation and perseverance in a year marked by uncertainty. “With so many ups and downs, it felt more important than ever to create a space for positivity—to applaud those pushing boundaries with every pint poured. These awards allow us to spotlight those who have not only weathered the storm but have helped propel the industry forward.”
Peter Anstey, Managing Director of Sydney Beer Week, echoed this sentiment, reflecting on the need to bring back an event that recognizes local beer heroes. “During the break taken by Sydney Beer Week, it became clear that something was missing in our local scene. Seeing events in other states celebrate their talent, we knew it was time to revive the Beer & Brewer Awards,” he said.
This year, the ceremony will be held at Mountain Culture Redfern, a new venue from the renowned Mountain Culture Brewery, known for its innovative approach to brewing. The brewery’s independent spirit and commitment to craft make it a fitting venue for a night dedicated to celebrating the best in the Australian beer industry.
