This isn’t the first time The Union Trading Company has experimented with cereal-based cocktails; a Cinnamon Toast Crunch creation had previously garnered praise from patrons. Buoyed by this success, Lu sought to push the boundaries further by exploring the popular technique of clarification, prevalent in Shanghai’s dynamic bar scene. By infusing the cereal milk with citrus and spirits, then subjecting it to a rigorous clarification process, Lu achieved a visually stunning and flavorful elixir.
To enhance the drink’s allure, Lu introduced elements of color and texture, infusing the liquid with butterfly pea flower and Fruity Pebbles. The result is a mesmerizing purple hue with a whimsical garnish of Fruity Pebbles on top, adding both visual appeal and a delightful crunch to each sip.
