TROY — Loaded Dice Brewery is paying tribute to Troy’s first responders with the launch of a new beer, Troy’s Finest. This helles lager, known for its clean, crisp taste with a hint of sweetness, will benefit local charities dedicated to the community.
“Some would say it has a soft bread-like flavor,” said Jef Smith, owner and operator of Loaded Dice Brewery. “It could be compared to many domestic lighter beers.”
Located on Rochester Road, north of Maple Road, the brewery aims to honor Troy’s first responders. A portion of the proceeds from Troy’s Finest will go to the Troy Police and Fire Benevolent Association and the Satterfield First Responder Scholarship Endowment.
Captain Andy Satterfield of the Troy Police Department expressed his gratitude in a press release. “I am honored that Loaded Dice Brewery chose to support the Satterfield First Responder Scholarship Endowment and Troy’s dedicated first responders. The endowment, started in 2023 with the help of the Troy Community Foundation, will award its first scholarship this year. We hope to grow the endowment to provide more grants and scholarships to support the future of public safety in Troy. It’s community-minded small businesses like Loaded Dice Brewery that make Troy such an outstanding city. Cheers to their new brew ‘Troy’s Finest’ and thank you.”
Troy’s Finest will be officially released on June 7 at a launch party. The initial batch, consisting of two barrels or approximately 60 gallons, will be available in the taproom throughout the weekend. The beer will also be offered in 16 oz cans for to-go sales.
Smith highlighted the brewery’s commitment to the cause. “We will donate our tips for the day, with staff contributions as well. Our goal is to raise $500-$700 through keg and can sales distributed to other locations.”
This limited release may become a longer-term offering, depending on its success and community response.
