San Francisco-based distiller and distributor Hotaling & Co has appointed David J. Colo as a board director. Colo, who most recently served as CEO of MGP Ingredients, brings decades of experience in the food and beverage industry.
Colo’s extensive leadership and change management experience includes optimizing company portfolios, organizational structures, talent, culture, performance, and driving sustainable growth. He served as president and CEO of MGP Ingredients from March 2020 to December 2023 and held similar roles at SunOpta, in addition to senior positions at Diamond Foods, ConAgra Foods, and Nestlé.

Additional board members include Emma Fox, chief executive of Berry Bros & Rudd; Tony Foglio, co-owner of Hotaling & Co; Gerry Ruvo, non-executive board member and former chairman of Campari America; Emily Rae, CFO at Berry Bros & Rudd; and Edward Rudd, family business director at Berry Bros & Rudd.
Hotaling & Co distributes renowned brands such as Nikka whisky, Junipero Gin, Fiero Tequila, and Kavalan whisky. The company recently reintroduced Kavalan’s Cask Strength Series to the US market. In 2018, the company rebranded from Anchor Distilling Company to Hotaling & Co after losing trademark rights to the “Anchor” name.
