Emporia Brands, a family-owned importer and distributor, has unveiled the latest addition to its Daddy Rack Tennessee Whiskey line: a cask-strength rye known as Jimmy Rack. Crafted from a mashbill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley, this robust whiskey is bottled at 61.3% ABV.
Master maker and blender J Arthur Rackham, known as Daddy Rack, praised the new release, stating, “If the spirit is made well, the cask strengths can be some of the most beautiful expressions. They’re truly uncut diamonds.”
Jimmy Rack is named in honor of Rackham’s uncle, who tragically lost his life at 19 during the Anglo-American beach landing at Salerno, Italy, in 1943. This small batch whiskey was meticulously crafted from a selection of 20 barrels and initially launched in Tennessee with tastings hosted by Daddy Rack in over 40 liquor stores across the state.
Now making its debut in the UK market, Jimmy Rack is priced at £69.95 (US$89). Rackham emphasized his goal to create a distinctive Tennessee straight rye whiskey that appeals both to global bartenders and liquor store owners, offering a high-proof, cask-strength expression that is double-mellowed for authenticity.
Earlier this year, Emporia Brands introduced Rémi Landier Cognac and Charentais apéritifs to the UK market, expanding its portfolio with premium spirits offerings.
