Edinburgh, UK – Independent whisky bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company (TBWC) has announced the launch of its new limited edition bottlings, an extension of its core range introduced in September 2023. These exclusive releases include three Scottish single malts, a 35-year-old single grain whisky from North British Distillery, and an eight-year-old Canadian corn whisky.
Five Unique Expressions
The limited edition series features the following expressions:
12-Year-Old Caol Ila: This Islay malt, finished in an ex-rum barrel, offers a distinct flavor profile with only 349 bottles available.
10-Year-Old Mortlach: Aged in a refill hogshead and finished in an ex-rum cask, this whisky has a limited run of 371 bottles.
11-Year-Old Balblair: Matured in a first-fill Bourbon barrel, this expression is available in just 292 bottles.
35-Year-Old North British Single Grain: This 1988 vintage whisky is the oldest in the collection, with only 274 bottles produced.
8-Year-Old Canadian Corn Whisky: Finished in Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks and ex-Islay whisky octaves, this expression brings a unique twist to the range.
Commitment to Quality and Creativity
Emily Chappell designed the labels for these limited editions, reflecting TBWC’s dedication to both quality and artistic storytelling. Sam Simmons, head of whisky at TBWC, commented on the new releases: “Our limited edition range embodies our dedication to exceptional whisky and artistic storytelling. Each bottle is a testament to our passion for bringing unique and memorable experiences to whisky enthusiasts. The bottles are in keeping with the new core range style, but without losing any of the brand history that has been established over the past (almost) 12 years.”
Availability and Pricing
The new releases are offered in 700ml bottles, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 45.8% ABV. Retail prices range from £42 to £90 (US$53 to US$114), and the whiskies are available from select retailers as well as through UK distributors Maverick Drinks and Master of Malt Trade for both on- and off-trade sales.
Innovative Whisky Competitions
In addition to these limited edition releases, TBWC continues to engage with the whisky community through creative initiatives. In May, TBWC launched its UK cocktail competition, challenging bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts to create innovative cocktails using the brand’s Canadian corn whisky. This competition underscores TBWC’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of whisky appreciation and mixology.
The new limited edition bottlings by TBWC not only expand their diverse portfolio but also highlight the company’s ongoing efforts to offer distinctive and high-quality whisky experiences to enthusiasts around the world.
