MILWAUKEE — USA Today has recognized Bryant’s Cocktail Lounge in Milwaukee as one of the best bars of the year. Located at 9th Street and Lapham Boulevard on the city’s south side, Bryant’s is one of only 27 bars nationwide to receive this honor.
The bar, renowned for being one of Milwaukee’s oldest cocktail lounges, was chosen for its unique, menuless ordering system. Molly Snyder from OnMilwaukee.com highlighted this distinctive feature: “They have over 450 cocktails and no drink menu. You simply tell the bartender your preferences, like ‘I’m in the mood for something with vodka, something fruity,’ and the bartenders, with their incredible memory, craft a drink for you.”
Bryant’s, which opened in the 1930s, offers a few signature cocktails that patrons can order by name. One such drink is the Pink Squirrel, a cocktail that was created at Bryant’s in the 1940s, according to the bar’s website.
The recognition from USA Today shines a spotlight on Bryant’s historical significance and innovative approach to cocktail service, celebrating its enduring legacy in Milwaukee’s vibrant bar scene.
