The Festival of Wine and Farm Delicacies is set to take place from August 29 to September 1 at the Regional Historical Museum in Pleven. This annual event will highlight some of the best Bulgarian wines and showcase dairy and meat delicacies from Northern Bulgaria.
The festival will kick off at 10:00 a.m. on August 29 with an Open Day hosted by the Institute of Viticulture and Enology-Pleven. This special event, part of the “Time for Wine – Pleven 2024” festival, will feature a focus on the red wine grape variety Rubin. Attendees can look forward to a presentation on Rubin grapes, along with a tasting of wines from various local producers.
Additionally, visitors will have the chance to sample a new Bulgarian ice cream made with wines from the “Plevenska Rosa,” “Rubin,” “Vrachanski Misket,” and “Gamza” grape varieties, produced using Italian technology.
For the first time, the festival will also include an exhibition of traditional and new dessert grape varieties. This initiative is a collaboration between the Agricultural University of Plovdiv, the Institute of Agriculture and Seed Science “Obraztsov Chiflik” in Ruse, and the Institute of Agriculture in Kyustendil.
