The highly anticipated Wine and Dine Festival is set to return to Hong Kong from October 23 to 27, taking place at the Central Harbourfront. Organizers announced on Thursday that the event will feature over 300 booths showcasing culinary delights and beverages from 35 countries and regions.
This year, the festival will span five days, extending from its traditional four-day format, and will remain open until 11 PM each night. Admission tickets will be available starting at HK$20, with three different types of tasting passes going on sale beginning Friday. A promotional discount of HK$20 will be offered for those purchasing tasting passes on or before October 15.
Raymond Chan, General Manager of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, expressed optimism about the event, expecting to attract around 150,000 attendees, including 10 percent from outside the region. “We have collaborated with various travel partners for earlier promotion of the Wine and Dine Festival this year,” he stated. He highlighted a focus on short-haul markets, including mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia, where overseas offices have begun early promotional efforts.
Chan also noted that additional visitors are anticipated this year due to the arrival of cruise ships in Hong Kong at the end of October, with plans to invite cruise passengers to experience the festival.
In an effort to promote sustainability, Chan urged attendees to bring their own cups, as no plastic cups will be provided in accordance with the government’s plastic ban.
In addition to the festival, the Tourism Board announced the return of the “Taste Around Town” program in November. This initiative will see over 300 local eateries offering discounts and exclusive menus that celebrate Hong Kong’s rich culinary heritage throughout the month-long festival.
