This marks the first time The Myrtle Grove has earned a spot in the esteemed guide. A spokesperson for CAMRA expressed their approval, stating, “The Myrtle Grove deserves its place in the Good Beer Guide 2025. We believe that when a licensee serves an excellent pint of real ale, other aspects of the pub, such as customer service, food quality, and ambiance, are likely to meet similarly high standards.”

Assistant manager Mackenzie Slinger, who oversees the ales, added, “We’re thrilled to finally be included in the guide. It’s a significant achievement for us. We serve over 2,000 pints of ale each week, which is impressive for a small pub.”

Slinger emphasized the importance of customer relationships in their success: “We connect with our customers by understanding their preferences. We always have 10 ales on tap, and we strive to cater to different tastes, often exploring new breweries.”

He highlighted a popular choice among patrons: Wobbly Bob, a deep amber ale brewed by Phoenix Brewery, stating, “We sell over 100 gallons of it each week. When customers compliment our ales, it reassures us that we’re doing something right.”
