Laetitia Vineyard & Winery, located in Arroyo Grande, has announced a significant change in ownership, with Ejnar Knudsen, Jeff Nicholson, and Eric Hickey now at the helm.
Eric Hickey, who has been with the vineyard since 1988, became the Head Winemaker in 2000 and brings decades of experience to the role. Hickey’s long-standing relationship with the winery marks continuity in operations despite the change in ownership.
Ejnar Knudsen, a seasoned agribusiness professional, is actively involved in several ventures in the San Joaquin Valley. He also maintains close ties with Cal Poly’s wine and viticulture program, further enhancing the vineyard’s connections to the local agricultural community.
Jeff Nicholson, the third partner, is expected to contribute substantial expertise in operations and logistics. His role as a partner will strengthen the winery’s overall business structure, according to the company.
The trio takes over from Vintage Wine Estates, which had purchased Laetitia Vineyard & Winery in 2019. Earlier this year, Vintage Wine Estates had announced the temporary closure of the tasting room at the vineyard, signaling a shift that has now culminated in this new ownership transition.
The new owners aim to build on the vineyard’s legacy while ushering in a new era for Laetitia Vineyard & Winery.
