The Bahamas National Trust (BNT) is gearing up to host the 32nd edition of its highly anticipated Wine & Art Festival this weekend, promising a dynamic blend of art, music, food, and wine. The event, set to take place on October 5-6 at The Retreat on Village Road, will run from noon to 10 p.m. each day, providing a packed schedule of entertainment and cultural experiences.
Live Performances to Headline the Event
This year’s festival will be headlined by performances from a variety of well-known local bands and artists, including Essence Band, The Expressions Band, and Sacha The Duchess. Attendees can expect a diverse musical lineup, ranging from jazz fusion and reggae rock to R&B and party favorites, ensuring there’s something for every music enthusiast.
A Showcase of Local Art and Global Wines
One of the festival’s key highlights is its showcase of over 40 local artists and vendors, alongside more than 50 international wines and champagnes. Visitors can enjoy live music, culinary demonstrations, and a variety of food options throughout the day. For those looking to extend their evening, an after-party will be held at the Heineken Beer Garden, where guests can unwind with a drink and live entertainment.
New Features to Enhance the Experience
Elijah Sands, Senior Communications Officer for the BNT, expressed excitement about the new additions to this year’s festival. “This year, we have some new and exciting features that will enhance the experience for visitors,” Sands said. “We’ll have over 50 wines available for sampling during the main event.”
Sands also announced the debut of the High Noon Lounge, a new seltzer-focused area, which he believes will be a hit with attendees. “This special lounge area will offer something new and refreshing for our guests to enjoy,” he added.
Encouraging Early Ticket Purchases
To avoid long lines, the BNT is encouraging festival-goers to purchase tickets in advance through the website Bntevents.com, though tickets will also be available at the door.
Supporting Conservation Efforts
Proceeds from the Wine & Art Festival serve as a significant fundraiser for the Bahamas National Trust, supporting the organization’s ongoing efforts to preserve the natural beauty and resources of The Bahamas. Sands emphasized the importance of the event, noting that “the festival not only celebrates the vibrant culture of The Bahamas but also contributes to vital conservation work.”
Three Unique Experiences Await Attendees
This year’s festival is set to offer three distinct experiences, catering to a wide range of tastes and preferences:
Main Festival (12 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
Guests will have the opportunity to embark on a curated journey “from vine to wine,” sampling over 60 different wines while enjoying Bahamian art, live music, and food vendors. Culinary demonstrations will showcase local talent, and the all-new High Noon Lounge will offer a refreshing escape for seltzer lovers.
VIP LVMH Champagne Lounge (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.)
For those seeking an elevated experience, the exclusive VIP LVMH Champagne Lounge will offer premium Veuve Clicquot and Chandon champagnes, alongside crafted cocktails featuring Hennessy and Belvedere. With limited capacity, early reservations are encouraged for this upscale experience.
Heineken Beer Garden Afterparty (7 p.m. – 10 p.m.)
The festivities continue into the evening with the Heineken Beer Garden Afterparty. Featuring unlimited Heineken beer, a cash bar, and music from DJ Tank, the afterparty promises to keep the energy high and the fun going long after the sun sets.
A Celebration of Wine, Music, and Art
The BNT is inviting everyone to join in on this celebration, where they can indulge in endless wine tastings from around the world, enjoy live performances, and admire the work of local artists. Festival-goers can also sample authentic Mexican tacos from the popular “Mexican Station” food vendor.
This year’s Wine & Art Festival promises to be a memorable event, combining cultural appreciation, entertainment, and a commitment to environmental preservation. The Bahamas National Trust looks forward to welcoming visitors for a weekend filled with excitement, community, and philanthropy.
