This Saturday, beer enthusiasts in Washington, D.C. are in for a treat as the highly anticipated Snallygaster Beer Festival takes over downtown. Described as the biggest beer festival on the East Coast, the event will run from noon to 6 p.m. and feature over 400 beers from 150 different breweries.

“It’s about 400-plus beers from 150 different brewers,” said Greg Engert, beer director for the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which organizes the annual festival. “On Pennsylvania Avenue, with the Capitol building as the backdrop.”

Set against the iconic view of the Capitol, the event promises an unforgettable atmosphere. Unlike last year’s rainy weather, the forecast predicts clear skies and pleasant temperatures for Saturday.

Engert emphasized the sheer scale of the event. “It’s really a big, huge festival that happens to have more beer than anybody else,” he said, noting that it will also feature some of the rarest beers in the world. “Breweries like Fiden’s from upstate New York and Monkish from Southern California—places where people line up just to get their beers—will be joining us. And the brewers themselves come to party with us.”

Beyond the beer, the festival serves a greater purpose. Proceeds will benefit Arcadia Food, a nonprofit focused on fostering a more equitable and sustainable food system.

For attendees, the festival offers a unique opportunity to sample a vast range of beers. “It really is a cool way to check a bunch of breweries off your bucket list,” Engert added.

With unlimited tastings and tickets still available on the Snallygaster website, this year’s festival promises to be a must-attend event for beer lovers across the region.
