Molson Coors has disclosed its strategic intentions to acquire Blue Run Spirits, a Kentucky-based craft whiskey and Bourbon enterprise, in a move that not only underlines Molson Coors’ evolution into a comprehensive beverage company but also furnishes Blue Run with the resources essential for its ongoing expansion.
Headquartered in Georgetown, Blue Run Spirits emerged as a recent entrant to the whiskey sector, having been introduced to the market in October 2020. This forthcoming collaboration marks a significant milestone for Molson Coors as it delves into the realm of spirits, marking its inaugural acquisition in this domain.
The incorporation of Blue Run into Molson Coors’ portfolio serves to further amplify the company’s presence in the spirits sector, reflecting its ongoing transformation from a historical beer-focused entity to one that is elevating and diversifying its assortment.
Simultaneously with this acquisition, Molson Coors has inaugurated Coors Spirits Co, an extension of its pre-existing spirits operations. This newly established entity, as stated by Molson Coors, will encompass not only Blue Run Spirits but also Five Trail Blended American Whiskey, Barmen 1873 Bourbon, and forthcoming innovative endeavors.
