October 24, 2024 — DelaWeAre, a statewide initiative aimed at promoting the craft brewing industry in Delaware, is set to return this fall. Throughout the first week of November, breweries from across the state will unveil their unique interpretations of DelaWeAre beer.
As the weather cools and autumn settles in, craft beer enthusiasts will have the opportunity to transition from light pilsners and lagers to richer, bolder brews. With stout season upon us, breweries are preparing to offer their takes on this versatile style. While many may expect stouts to be dark, roasty, and heavy, the category is diverse, promising a wide range of alcohol by volume (ABV), international bitterness units (IBU), and standard reference method (SRM) measurements.
“With the cooler weather that time of year, stout makes perfect sense,” said Jimmy Vennard, president of the Delaware Brewers Guild and founder of Autumn Arch Beer Project. “We look forward to our statewide collaboration every year, and I’m excited to see what the guild members come up with this time around.”
Participating breweries include notable names such as Bellefonte Brewing, Big Oyster Brewery, Crooked Hammock Brewery, Dew Point Brewing, Dewey Beer Co., Dogfish Head, First State Brewing Co., Iron Hill Brewery, JAKL Beer Works, Lewes Brewing Company, Stewart’s Brewing Co., Twisted Irons Brewery, Volunteer Brewing, and Wilmington Beer Works.
