Avon, OH — Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurants, a lifestyle brand that blends culinary experiences with fine wines, is set to open its latest location in Avon, Ohio, on November 4, according to a company announcement. This new restaurant, located at 35351 Chester Road, marks the brand’s seventh presence in the Ohio area.
Founded in 2005 by CEO Tim McEnery, Cooper’s Hawk brings together a winery, restaurant, artisan market, and Napa-style tasting room, with headquarters based in Countryside, Illinois. The company’s concept centers on McEnery’s belief in the power of food and wine to create meaningful connections, according to the release.
The brand also boasts a robust Wine Club community with over 300,000 members who benefit from monthly selections of limited-production wines, exclusive travel and dining opportunities, and various other membership perks.
In Avon, the culinary team will be led by Kevin Cassetto in collaboration with Executive Chef Matt McMillin. Together, they aim to redefine the modern casual dining scene with a commitment to quality and innovative presentation. The restaurant’s contemporary American menu, infused with international flavors, features wine pairings for each dish, guided by a bin number to enhance the dining experience.
The menu includes diverse lunch, brunch, Happy Hour, and dinner options, in addition to a gluten-free menu, kids’ menu, takeout, and catering services. Among the popular dishes are:
- Crispy Brussels Sprouts – Cashews, mint, Sweet Tai Chili, Sesame-Sriracha Aioli
- Trio of Medallions – Horseradish, bleu cheese, and parmesan-crusted filet medallions, Mary’s potatoes, asparagus
- Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon – Wasabi-buttered mashed potatoes, Asian slaw
- Gnocchi Carbonara – Pancetta, chicken, sage, peas, parmesan garlic cream sauce
- Drunken Shrimp – Bacon-wrapped shrimp with tequila lime butter sauce, fresh guacamole
Cooper’s Hawk has received over 500 awards for its wines, which are crafted from grapes imported from premier vineyards worldwide and produced in its Woodridge, Illinois, winery. The selection includes over 40 varietals designed to appeal to both newcomers and experienced wine enthusiasts. Guests can also enjoy craft cocktails and sangrias made with Cooper’s Hawk wines.
The Avon location’s “Modern Artisanal” design draws inspiration from Ohio’s landscapes, featuring a pitched roof and open, airy interiors. In a tribute to Avon’s distinction as the “duct tape capital of the world,” Ohio artist Joe Girandola created an original art piece titled The Winery Table, a mural made entirely from duct tape.
The restaurant’s spacious dining room seats 300 guests, with an additional 44 seats on a covered patio. A distinct U-booth feature wall showcases vertical wood slats and Cooper’s Hawk wine bottles, placing wine at the center of the dining experience. Textured lighting fixtures and organic tones create a warm and welcoming ambiance.
For private events, the restaurant offers flexible dining spaces that accommodate up to 48 guests, with a sliding wall to divide the area into two smaller rooms for 24 guests each. As with all Cooper’s Hawk locations, a Napa-style tasting room and retail area welcome guests at the restaurant’s entrance, providing a complete wine-tasting and shopping experience.
