Takamaka, the renowned rum brand headquartered in Seychelles, has warmly received the talented team from Dubai’s distinguished cocktail bar, Ergo, for an extended month-long residency at its distillery.
Fronted by co-owner Jimmy Barrat, the proficient Ergo team took command of Takamaka’s on-site bar, The Rum Shack, as the calendar turned to August.
During this period, Ergo has curated an exclusive menu of cocktails that brilliantly showcase the distinctive and robust flavors inherent in Takamaka’s range of rums.
Barrat enthusiastically shared, “The opportunity to curate a drink experience at such a historic location—one that is deeply focused on incorporating local, fresh ingredients and showcasing a singular spirit—was simply irresistible. Throughout the month, our team will be rotating, presenting daily crafted cocktails while also engaging actively with the vibrant local bar scene.”
Set amidst the lush garden of Takamaka’s Trois Frères Distillery and visitor center in Mahé’s La Plaine St André, The Rum Shack provides an enchanting backdrop to this residency.
Scheduled until the end of August, the Ergo residency marks Takamaka’s inaugural installment of a series of captivating takeovers, featuring some of the world’s most distinguished bar teams.
Ergo, celebrated for its fusion of “neo-futuristic, nostalgic urbanity, and evocative echoes of the 80s underground scene,” finds its home on the mezzanine level of The Dubai Edition hotel.
This cocktail bar and restaurant has garnered international recognition, being nominated as one of the top 10 Best New International Bars in the 2023 Spirited Awards organized by Tales of the Cocktail.
