Prominent UK wine retailer Majestic has recently reported a noteworthy surge in the sales of organic wines, and its CEO, Rob Cooke, has projected that this trend is poised to double in magnitude over the upcoming three years. The surge in organic wine consumption is attributed to consumers’ increasing preference for “planet-friendly purchases.”
Majestic has unveiled that its sales of organic wines have recorded a remarkable 22% increase during the initial five months of the current financial year when compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This surge amounts to more than a fifth of growth. The retailer confidently forecasts that the sales of its organic wines will experience a doubling effect within the next three years.
Acknowledging the escalating demand for organic wines, Majestic has expanded its fundamental range of organic offerings from 50 to 67 variants to effectively address the burgeoning market interest. These wines are available for purchase by retail customers and are also extended to on-trade partners, catering to various preferences.
CEO Rob Cooke underscored the robust momentum in demand for organic wines, affirming that the growth is evident both among in-store shoppers and the expansive portfolio of on-trade partners associated with Majestic. The retailer’s proactive approach in expanding its organic range reflects a strategic alignment with consumers’ evolving preferences and commitment to environmentally-conscious choices.
