Empresas Polar, a prominent Venezuelan food and beverage company, is making its mark in the U.S. beer market with the launch of Polar Premium Beer. Brewed locally at the company’s plant in Auburndale, Florida, this new beer aims to attract American consumers with its distinctive flavor profile and premium ingredients.
With a rich history spanning over 83 years, Empresas Polar has been present in the U.S. market for more than 35 years through its Polar Pilsen brand. Polar Premium Beer, however, represents a new chapter in the company’s American expansion. The beer is crafted using high-quality North American ingredients, including Canadian malted barley and hops sourced from Washington’s Yakima Valley.
“We were born in Venezuela as a brewery in 1941, and brewing runs through our veins,” said María Alexandra Mendoza, marketing director for Empresas Polar’s International Business Division. “We are proud to introduce Polar Premium Beer to our global portfolio—a product that offers robust, elegant flavors sure to appeal to American beer enthusiasts, who are always on the lookout for new experiences and quality beverages.”
Polar Premium Beer is characterized by its 6% ABV and 24 IBU (International Bitterness Units), providing a balanced, malty flavor with herbal notes and hints of fresh hop flowers. Its bright golden color and dense white foam make it a distinctive option in the competitive U.S. beer market.
Initially, Polar Premium Beer will be available in select markets, including North Carolina, New York, Washington, D.C., Texas, and Florida. In South Florida, consumers can find it at major supermarkets such as Sedanos, Bravo, and Presidente, as well as in specialty liquor stores.
The beer made its official debut at the “Clash of Giants” sports event held at LoanDepot Park in Miami, where over 70,000 baseball fans gathered. Empresas Polar chose this high-profile event for the launch, recognizing the strong cultural connection between beer and sports. “Sports have always been part of Empresas Polar; it’s in our DNA,” Mendoza added. “This event was the perfect venue to introduce Polar Premium Beer to the American market.”
