Gary Barlow, renowned singer and wine enthusiast, is set to embark on a new adventure in Gary Barlow’s Wine Tour: Australia, following the success of his South African tour aired on ITV in November. The new series will see Barlow journey across Australia, highlighting the country’s diverse wine regions, including the famous vineyards of South Australia. The show, produced in partnership with Tourism Australia, is scheduled to air in spring 2025.
Barlow, who has a wine range created in collaboration with Benchmark Drinks, includes South African organic Sauvignon Blanc in his portfolio, alongside wines from Spain. His Australian tour is expected to tie in with his ongoing Take That This Life tour, marking the band’s first Australian performances in three decades.
In a press statement, Barlow expressed his excitement over the positive reception of his first series and promised that the Australian leg would be “epic.” The show is set to explore Australia’s wine culture in six episodes, though specific locations remain undisclosed.
The series is poised to provide significant exposure for Australia’s wine industry. According to Wine Australia, the UK is Australia’s second-largest export market for wine, and Barlow’s celebrity status could further boost interest. Paul Turale, Wine Australia’s general manager for marketing, stated that the show will not only promote Australia’s wine and food but could inspire international viewers to explore Australian wine tourism.
While the focus remains on Barlow’s South African wine collection, there are no current plans to introduce an Australian wine into his range.
