NoDa, Charlotte — In a surprising shift of plans, the anticipated expansion of Atlanta-based Hippin Hops Brewery into Charlotte has taken an unexpected turn. Owner Clarence Boston has decided to reimagine the venture and introduce a new establishment in its stead, christened “Another Brewery.”
Co-owner Orlando Botero, collaborator on the project, explains the concept as a fusion of a local dive bar with an in-house brewing operation. “While it carries the label ‘brewery,’ it primarily embodies the essence of a neighborhood dive that crafts its own assortment of beers,” Botero elaborates.
The development marks a departure from the initial trajectory, first unveiled in our December 2021 report, where Hippin Hops Brewery was poised to make its debut on the Charlotte scene during the summer of 2022.
The choice of the name “Another Brewery” is a playful acknowledgment of the vocal sentiments expressed by many residents of Charlotte. The growing proliferation of breweries, notably evident in the city’s social media discourse, inspired the moniker as a tongue-in-cheek nod to this sentiment.
Anticipated to open within the upcoming months, Another Brewery will find its home in the vibrant NoDa neighborhood. Botero offers insights into the ambiance, noting a laid-back atmosphere replete with a diverse range of offerings. The culinary offerings promise to be a highlight, encompassing a range of high-quality bar fare such as wings, burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. The establishment aims to deliver not only delectable bites but also an assortment of chilled beverages, complemented by engaging amenities like darts, interactive games, and televised sports events.
Further enhancing the experience, Another Brewery plans to host trivia nights and music bingo on select evenings throughout the week. In addition to a variety of beers, the establishment will boast a comprehensive bar selection, including liquor and wine.
The imminent opening of Another Brewery is earmarked for Bainbridge NoDa on North Davidson Street, situated at 2509 North Davidson, directly across from the original Amelie’s locale. The venue will feature a capacious indoor and outdoor area, collectively spanning 3,900 square feet. Operating hours are set to span seven days a week, from 11:00 AM to midnight on Sundays through Thursdays, and extending to 2:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays.
