CINCINNATI — Taft’s Brewing Company officially closed its Cincinnati Brewporium on Sunday, marking the end of its local pub operations. The final drinks were served just before 8 p.m., bringing an end to the company’s last remaining pub.
At its peak, Taft’s Brewing Company operated three locations, with the Brewporium being the final establishment in operation. In 2023, the company closed its original location, Taft’s Ale House, and earlier this year, it shut down its satellite Brewporium location in Columbus.
Despite the closure of its pubs, Taft’s beer brand will continue to thrive. Earlier this month, Cincinnati Beverage Company acquired the brand and confirmed that production and sales of Taft’s beers will persist. Cincinnati Beverage Company also owns and produces several other local beer brands, including Hudepohl, Little Kings, and Christian Moerlein.
Looking ahead, the Taft’s Brewporium building will be taken over by Impact Beverage, another local brewing company. While the company has not disclosed full plans for the space, it is expected to continue operating under new ownership.
The former Taft’s Ale House building also underwent a change in ownership this year and was rebranded as the Mellotone Beer Project last month.
