Bellingham, WA — December 31, 2023 — Twin Sister Brewing Company, a popular brewery, beer garden, and restaurant in Bellingham’s Sunnyland neighborhood, has announced its permanent closure after six years in operation. The announcement came via a Facebook post on December 31, marking the end of an era for the beloved local business.
In the post, the brewery expressed gratitude to its patrons: “Unfortunately, it is now the time for our story to end. We want to thank everyone who walked through our doors over the years. You helped make Twin Sisters what it was.”
The closure comes after the brewery was listed for sale in September 2023, as its owners expressed intentions to retire.
Stemma Brewing Company, another Bellingham-based brewery, is set to take over the space. The company plans to transform the former Twin Sisters location into their second taproom, with an anticipated opening in early 2025. Stemma shared its excitement on social media, stating, “We have so many visions, ideas, and dreams of what may come with this expansion. Stay tuned for more updates and look out for a Grand Opening date in the coming months.”
