Wine Paris, the renowned three-day trade fair, concluded its 2025 edition on February 12, setting a new record with 52,622 visitors from 150 countries, despite ongoing challenges in the wine and spirits sector such as geopolitical uncertainties, declining consumption, and environmental pressures. The event, organized by Vinexposium, attracted over 4,600 exhibitors from 50 wine-producing nations, reflecting its growing global presence.

This surge in attendance and exhibitor numbers marks a shift in the dynamics of major international trade shows, with Wine Paris now poised to compete with Europe’s established Prowein Düsseldorf, set to open next month. As more producers weigh their options, the event’s increasing popularity signals a pivotal moment for the industry.

A Growing Global Presence

While France remained the dominant exhibitor, the event saw significant international expansion. For the 2025 edition, international exhibitors were allocated 80% more floor space than in 2024, with three entire halls dedicated to global participants. The event featured 54 exhibiting countries, 116 international pavilions (including eight new participants), and drew 45% of its visitors from 154 countries, solidifying its position as a premier platform for global wine and spirits trade.

Vinexposium also reported a 35% increase in attendance from major buyers in key markets. The event’s networking services were highly praised, as they helped facilitate twice as many online connections between producers and buyers, enhancing opportunities for industry collaboration.

Rebecca Ohayon, a buyer for Majestic Wine in the United Kingdom, shared her enthusiasm for the event’s growth. “I’ve been attending Vinexposium events for over 10 years, and it just keeps getting bigger and better. The exhibition’s expansion is impressive, and the overall atmosphere is amazing. Paris is an ideal location, with some of the best restaurants, and it’s clear that many buyers share that sentiment. I’m already excited for next year.”

French Participation and Future Outlook

French participation at Wine Paris also saw growth, with a 7% increase in attendance from across France’s diverse wine regions. The event attracted a broad spectrum of exhibitors, from independent winegrowers to cooperatives, trading companies, and major brands.

Looking ahead, Vinexposium CEO Rodolphe Lameyse emphasized the importance of global cooperation in uncertain times. “In times of economic and geopolitical challenges, isolationism is not an option. By working together, fostering innovation, and engaging across industry and political spheres, we can find solutions. Wine Paris has become a crucial hub for the wine and spirits industry, and the 2025 edition will play an even more significant role for stakeholders worldwide.”

Vinexposium’s global expansion continues with a busy calendar of events in 2025, including:

  • Vinexpo America (May 7-8, Miami)
  • Vinexpo Asia (May 27-29, Singapore)
  • Vinexpo India (October 11-12, Mumbai)
  • World Bulk Wine Exhibition (November 24-25, Amsterdam)

By expanding its reach, Vinexposium aims to support the global growth of its partners and help them navigate the evolving challenges facing the wine and spirits industry.
