Tom Holland Finds Success After Hurdles in Securing His Non-Alcoholic Beer Brand at Target

Actor Tom Holland faced some unexpected challenges while attempting to purchase his non-alcoholic beer brand, Bero, at Target. After searching in two different stores without success, Holland finally spotted his product at a third location. In a video posted online, he excitedly shared his discovery, saying, “OK, I found it and I just walked straight past it by accident.”

However, Holland encountered a further obstacle when attempting to buy Bero. Despite being the creator of the brand, his English ID was not accepted, and the store could not verify his age. “I bought it… they wouldn’t accept my ID because it’s English and I couldn’t prove my age, so a really lovely employee, I guess, scanned their ID,” Holland explained in a follow-up clip. He humorously noted, “Kind of ironic that I wasn’t allowed to buy my own product.”

Holland, who has been candid about his journey with sobriety, previously shared the inspiration behind Bero. After quitting drinking, the actor decided to create a non-alcoholic beer. In a 2023 interview on On Purpose With Jay Shetty, Holland revealed that he first attempted Dry January in 2022. The experience prompted him to refrain from alcohol for six months, during which he noticed significant improvements in his physical and mental well-being. “I could sleep better. I could handle problems better,” he said, reflecting on how sobriety positively impacted his life. “I had such better mental clarity. I felt healthier, I felt fitter.”

Holland also expressed his growing realization about the grip alcohol had on his life: “I just sort of said to myself, ‘Why? Why am I enslaved to this drink? Why am I so obsessed by the idea of having this drink?’” His decision to create Bero was a direct result of his desire to offer an alternative for those seeking a refreshing beverage without the negative effects of alcohol.
