Tiger Beer has partnered with fashion designer Izzy Du to develop a groundbreaking puffer jacket equipped with a beer-powered cooling system designed to keep individuals cool in tropical climates.
This unique creation, known as the TIGER Summer Puffer, was designed in collaboration with BBH Singapore and LePub APAC. Its cooling system relies on an ice-cold Tiger Beer, which chills water pumped through a network of silicone tubes that come into contact with key areas where arteries are close to the skin. This ingenious design can cool the wearer’s body by up to 5°C when exposed to the sun.
The development of the TIGER Summer Puffer involved collaboration with the Japanese creative studio Whatever Co., drawing inspiration from the cooling technology used to keep astronauts comfortable in extreme temperatures. Various cooling system designs, tube placements, tube materials, water tank designs, and electronic wiring were tested to optimize the jacket’s cooling efficiency. The final mechanism was fine-tuned to ensure it provided the right level of cooling without becoming excessively cold for the wearer.
This innovative jacket represents an exciting fusion of fashion and technology, offering a stylish and practical solution for staying comfortable in hot weather.
