Following the success of the inaugural 2024 edition, the 2025 competition has seen a significant increase in participation. Nearly 200 of China’s top wineries have submitted over 900 varieties of wines. The judging panel has also expanded, now consisting of 27 international wine experts, including 10 Masters of Wine (MW), three Master Sommeliers (MS), and one expert holding both MW and MS certifications. Blind tastings, scored on the internationally recognized 100-point scale, will determine the winners.

In addition to the competition, Wynn is hosting four expert-led seminars offering global perspectives on the development of China’s wine industry. On March 2, Professor Ma Huiqin of China Agricultural University led a session focusing on the unique terroir and winemaking potential of Yunnan and Sichuan. The following day, Xing Wei MW presented insights into northwest China’s wine production regions in the “Xinjiang & Ningxia Regional Tutorial.”

The winners of the 2025 competition will be announced on April 11. These awards will provide winners with valuable marketing and promotional opportunities across China and internationally, further raising the profile of Chinese wines on the global stage.
