Amid rising trade tensions and looming tariffs set to impact U.S. trade relations, one Canadian company is offering a unique solution to ease its customers’ stress. Moosehead Breweries, Canada’s oldest brewery, is introducing a giant crate containing 1,461 beers, an amount that equates to one beer per day for the duration of U.S. President Donald Trump’s second term in office.
Founded in 1867, Moosehead Breweries released a statement highlighting the challenges of the year ahead: “If the start of 2025 has taught us anything, it’s that it will take determination to weather four years of political uncertainty—and what better way to make it through each day than with a truly Canadian beer.”
The brewery, based in New Brunswick, is preparing for the impact of new tariffs. These tariffs, which will include a 10% increase on aluminum lids—sourced exclusively from the U.S.—are set to hit Moosehead hard. The company also relies on the U.S. as a major export market, with 20% of its beer sold south of the border. The new tariffs could further threaten the profitability of these exports.
In response, Moosehead has launched the “Presidential Pack” — a $2,400 crate available to customers in the Canadian provinces of Ontario, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. With 1,461 beers inside, the pack is marketed as a way to help Canadians endure the political uncertainty that may come over the next four years.
The move is an attempt to blend humor and resilience, as the brewery faces both domestic and international challenges.
For now, consumers in the affected provinces can purchase this large crate, which is being promoted as a “true Canadian” way to get through the political turmoil that lies ahead.
