Edinburgh’s Brewhemia beer palace has received a fresh update as it renews its partnership with Molson Coors for another year, bringing a newly redesigned and relaunched entrance.

The updated design prominently features Coors’ Staropramen brand, with the Market Street frontage now showcasing an enhanced version of the venue’s iconic elements. The striking centerpiece remains a working clock, inspired by Prague’s Astronomical Clock—symbolizing the home city of Staropramen. The clock is complemented by artistic representations of beer tanks that are central to Brewhemia’s offering.

Specializing in fresh tank beer, Brewhemia’s most popular product remains Staropramen, and the venue’s general manager, Daniel Wylie, expressed enthusiasm for the continued collaboration. However, he emphasized the importance of refreshing the venue’s aesthetic.

“The clock remains a great focal point,” Wylie shared. “It not only serves as a nod to Prague, but it’s also functional, which makes it even more special in today’s architecture. We’ve made changes, moving the copper tanks alongside the clock, and now the beer tanks are designed to look like Champagne bottles, popping and cascading beer over the arches. The addition of 3D structures gives it even more character.”

Wylie also noted that the redesign would evolve throughout the year, with floral touches planned for each season, culminating in a festive display at Christmas.

The extension of the partnership has proven beneficial for both Brewhemia and Staropramen. Wylie highlighted the positive impact on Staropramen’s visibility and sales within the venue, underscoring the importance of their ongoing relationship.

James Byrne, Molson Coors’ retail development and key account manager, echoed Wylie’s sentiments, emphasizing that the revamped entrance was designed to maximize Staropramen’s visibility and engagement.

“The visual appeal of the new display on Market Street has significantly increased the brand’s presence and driven growth,” Byrne said. “We wanted to capture the authenticity of Staropramen, bringing a piece of Prague to Edinburgh. The clock ties everything together, perfectly reflecting the brand’s spirit and quality.”
