Vineland is poised to become a new hotspot for craft beer enthusiasts with the arrival of Wander Back Beerworks, a rapidly growing brewery based in South Jersey. The brewery, which prides itself on creating high-quality traditional brews, will be opening a new location later this year in the heart of Vineland, reports 42 Freeway.
Set to occupy a 7,500-square-foot space on the ground floor of the Mori building at 830 East Landis Avenue, Wander Back Beerworks is the brainchild of owners Justin Vitti, Brian Hink, and Christopher Henke. In an interview with What Now Philadelphia, the trio explained that their decision to open in Vineland was driven by the city’s lack of breweries, which presented a unique opportunity to meet an untapped demand. “There is a huge hole when looking at the NJ brewery map,” said the owners, adding that the region’s limited brewery options made it an ideal location for expansion.
The proximity of the new brewery to local grain supplier Rabbit Hill Farms is also an important factor for Wander Back. The owners plan to emphasize sustainability by sourcing exclusively locally grown and malted grains, supporting the region’s agricultural economy.
Wander Back’s founders are also keenly aware of the evolving craft beer landscape. While beer remains a central focus for the company, they acknowledge the growing popularity of other alcohol-based beverages like THC-infused drinks and canned cocktails. Despite these shifts, the brewery plans to cater to a dedicated beer-drinking audience with a focus on “Beer Flavored Beer,” specifically lagers and traditional brews. “We felt now was the time to strike,” Vitti said. “We can make our mark on the beer drinker who is really looking for quality, a beer they can feel good supporting.”
Although Wander Back Beerworks will not have its own kitchen, it will collaborate with local food trucks and nearby restaurants to offer visitors a variety of dining options. This commitment to supporting the local community is a key part of the brewery’s mission. The owners emphasize their dedication to transparency and building a brand that resonates with consumers, particularly in a market flooded with transient beer brands. “We want people to know where their beer comes from, and to trust that it’s locally sourced,” said Henke.
Construction on the new brewery is expected to be completed by the end of summer, with plans to open the tasting room in the fourth quarter of 2025. The brewery aims to serve as more than just a place to enjoy great beer; it will also be a hub for community events in Downtown Vineland. “We want to build a quality beer destination but still maintain an inviting, communal space,” said Vitti. “Vineland definitely deserves a quality local brewery to support and call home.”
With a focus on quality brews, local agriculture, and community engagement, Wander Back Beerworks is set to become a staple in the South Jersey craft beer scene, bringing fresh energy and excitement to the area.
