Visitors to the Australia Pavilion at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka will soon be able to enjoy Coopers beer, with the first shipment of over 750 cases set to arrive for the event’s opening on 13 April. This supply will cover the first three months of the six-month-long expo, catering to attendees with a refreshing taste of South Australian beverages.
In addition to Coopers beer, the pavilion will offer a range of regional specialties, including Southern Bluefin Tuna, South Australian lamb and beef, and wines from the state. Guests can experience these local delights at the pavilion’s café or during live culinary demonstrations.
Andrew Cooper, Director of Global and Key Accounts at Coopers, expressed pride in showcasing South Australia’s world-class food and beverage offerings. “We’re excited to offer our popular Coopers Australian Lager and Original Pale Ale to guests, allowing them to experience some of the best that South Australia has to offer,” Cooper said.
The South Australian Government, in partnership with the Federal Government, has invested $1 million to support Australia’s presence at the event. This initiative aims to strengthen the trade relationship with Japan, which was South Australia’s eighth-largest export partner, with $643.5 million worth of goods imported from the state in the year to January 2025.
Trade and Investment Minister Joe Szakacs emphasized the importance of reinforcing these ties, particularly in light of recent global developments. “It’s more crucial than ever to nurture strong relationships with key trading partners in Asia, the Pacific, and Europe,” he noted.
Australia will join more than 150 nations and regions participating in the Expo, which is expected to attract over 28 million visitors from 13 April to 13 October. The Australia Pavilion alone is anticipated to welcome more than 15,000 visitors daily.
The pavilion, designed by architectural firm Buchan, incorporates sustainable features, including reusable modular materials previously used in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. With the theme “Chasing the Sun,” the pavilion will highlight Australia’s leadership in clean energy and low-emissions technologies.
“World Expo 2025 Osaka provides an excellent platform to strengthen Australia’s ties with Japan, one of our oldest and most trusted trading partners,” Minister Szakacs said. “With millions of visitors expected, South Australia is poised to showcase its best brands, produce, and key export products to further enhance its global trade footprint.”
