The Wrexham Lager Beer Co, the UK’s oldest lager brand and co-owned by Hollywood stars Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, has announced its expansion into Northern Ireland through a new partnership with drinks wholesaler Anzac Drinks.
This collaboration will see Wrexham Lager and Wrexham Export offered in 440ml cans, available across both on- and off-trade channels throughout Northern Ireland. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to increase its international footprint.
The expansion follows the successful launch of Wrexham Lager in several international markets over the past year, including Hungary, the United States, Australia, and Scandinavia. This international growth comes after McElhenney and Reynolds joined the Roberts family as co-owners of the brewery.
James Wright, CEO of Wrexham Lager Beer Co, expressed his enthusiasm for the Northern Ireland venture, saying, “This is an exciting milestone for us. Our partnership with Anzac Drinks provides an excellent opportunity to introduce our high-quality lagers to a new and vibrant market. Northern Ireland is just the beginning, and we have big plans for 2025.”
Founded in 1882, Wrexham Lager Beer Co has been brewing its iconic lagers in Wales for over a century, making this latest expansion another significant step in its ongoing growth and global reach.
