WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) — Cheers and golden ales flowed Thursday afternoon as Emmy-winning actor Kelsey Grammer greeted fans at Wichita Brewing Company, where he personally served pints of his Faith American beer.
Grammer, beloved for his iconic roles in “Cheers” and “Frasier,” has partnered with the Wichita brewery to begin local production of his Faith Ale — a golden ale crafted by his Faith American Brewing Company. The visit marked a milestone for the Midwest launch of the beer, drawing devoted fans from across the nation.
Among them was Ethan Unruh, who made the trip from Denver to meet the actor who, he says, helped shape his youth.
“‘Frasier’ always seems to speak to me, no matter what I’m going through in life,” Unruh said. “I just wanted to shake his hand and say thank you.”
Julie LaFountain traveled from North Carolina for what she called a “35 years in the making” reunion. A former extra on the set of “Cheers,” she was excited to reconnect with a star from the show that launched Grammer’s career.
Faith American Brewing Company has now teamed up with Wichita Brewing Company to produce and distribute Faith Ale across the Midwest, cementing Wichita’s role in Grammer’s brewing venture.
“There’s a great energy here in Wichita,” Grammer said during the event. “People celebrate success and the endeavor… and that’s what I’m in it for.”
Wichita Brewing Company staff echoed his sentiment, noting the city’s growing influence in the craft beer scene.
“Craft beer’s really rocking here,” said bartender Joseph Vulgamore. “To quote our head brewer, Wichita is the lager capital of the world.”
Faith Ale is now on tap at Wichita Brewing Company’s Delano location, where Thursday’s event brought together television nostalgia, celebrity excitement, and a shared love of local beer.
