On April 18, 2025, BDA Partners’ Tokyo office, in collaboration with the Development Bank of Japan (DBJ), hosted a distinguished Global Wine Tasting Dinner at the Grand Hyatt Tokyo. The event brought together executives from leading private equity firms and prominent Japanese corporations for an evening of refined wine appreciation and professional networking.
The tasting was expertly guided by Ms. Junko Tominaga, one of Japan’s foremost wine educators, renowned for her extensive qualifications and accolades in the wine industry. Attendees participated in a blind tasting experience thoughtfully paired with a multi-course dinner crafted by the Grand Hyatt Tokyo’s culinary team.
The evening commenced with a welcoming glass of delicate rosé from Provence, setting a refined tone. This was followed by a celebratory toast featuring a classically styled Champagne noted for its layered complexity. Guests then explored three white wines, each representing distinct grape varieties and countries, selected to showcase aromatic, versatile, and neutral profiles. The tasting culminated with three red wines, including the iconic Super Tuscan “Tenuta Luce,” exemplifying the elegance and power of Merlot-based blends from diverse international regions.
