The World Expo 2025 is currently taking place in Osaka, Japan, attracting millions of visitors from around the globe. With an estimated 28 million attendees expected, the event serves as a prominent platform for countries to showcase their cultures, innovations, and products. Among the standout exhibits is the French pavilion, a consistent highlight at such global exhibitions, due to France’s rich cultural and gastronomic heritage.
This year, one of the key attractions within the French pavilion is Les Vins d’Alsace—the wines from the Alsace region. Renowned for their distinctive flavors and quality, Alsace wines have garnered international acclaim and will now take center stage at the Expo. To shed light on this exciting showcase, we spoke with Philippe Bouvet, the marketing director of CIVA (Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins d’Alsace), the organization that represents the Alsace wine sector. Bouvet provided insights into the region’s winemaking traditions and the role of Alsace wines in the global market.
The program, produced by Amanda Alexander, Marina Pajovic, and Georgina Robertson, offers a glimpse into how Alsace’s wine industry is poised to captivate the World Expo’s diverse audience.
