London’s esteemed rum haven, Burlock, has launched a captivating seasonal menu featuring an array of 18 distinctive cocktails, marking the bar’s first menu change in seven years.
Nestled underground on Duke Street in Mayfair, Burlock exudes the ambiance of a 1930s Havana rum room. Boasting an extensive collection of over 200 rum brands, including renowned labels like El Dorado, Doorly’s, and Planteray, the bar promises an immersive experience for rum enthusiasts.
The freshly curated menu is designed to guide guests on a memorable rum journey, blending some of the world’s finest rums with Burlock’s house-made syrups and mixes, all crafted with a sustainable, low-waste ethos.
Among the standout offerings is the Fish House Old Fashioned, a delightful fusion of Planteray Xaymaca, Courvoisier VS, and peach brandy, infused with spice—a nostalgic nod to the classic cocktail originating from 1915 Havana.
Not to be missed is the Krakatoan Cloud, a mesmerizing concoction featuring Mozart White Chocolate, Damoiseau Guava, Clément Coconut, and Torabhaig whisky, served in a frosty, cloud-like presentation.
The menu also boasts inventive twists on beloved classics, including Piña Coladas and Mai Tais, as well as customizable Daiquiris allowing guests to select their preferred rum and flavor. For larger groups, the option to transform cocktails into communal punch bowls adds a convivial touch to the experience.
Venturing beyond rum-centric creations, Burlock offers enticing alternatives such as The Fonesca, a reinterpretation of a Manhattan, and The Grog, featuring Element 29 vodka blended with grapefruit, lime, Bitter Truth Pimento Dram, house-spiced dairy mix, and agave syrup. Coffee aficionados can indulge in Rev Lover, marrying Black Tears Cuban Spice with vermouth, coffee, and Espelette.
The menu revamp at Burlock aligns with a trend of rejuvenation in London’s cocktail scene, with notable establishments like Lyaness and Velvet Bar recently unveiling their own refreshed offerings under the creative guidance of industry luminaries Ryan Chetiyawardana and Salvatore Calabrese, respectively.
